Dan Dufficy founded this company in 2002. He has a deep connection to Marin and has been working in the field since he was 17. Dan is passionate about spreading awareness in the community about gardening with organic products and landscaping with indigenous plants. He will work with you to design a creative and personalized landscape for your home or business.

CNL operated as a landscaping-only company for many years, before the nursery on shoreline highway opened in 2012. Since that time, Dan Dufficy and the rest of the crew have been growing and selling some of the best organic, chemical-free, California native plants in the community. CNL still operates a state-of-the-art installation and design department that helps local businesses and homeowners enjoy the native gardens and landscapes of their dreams. CNL is proud to say that we specialize in natural habitat restoration, pollinator friendly plants and the nursery is your complete garden center.

California Native Landscapes is fortunate to have Ian as our landscape foreman. Ian is originally from Virginia where he owned his own landscape business specializing in native plants and sustainable designs. He joined us in 2013 and can basically do it all; from designing landscapes and installing them, to educating customers about the best natives for their yard and the role they play in the ecosystem.

After adventuring to California, Ian and his wife moved onto their next adventure, a baby girl named Piper. On Ian’s off days you will probably find him with Piper on his back on a great hike. He’s teaching her to love the outdoors and nature just as much as he does.
